FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Methodist men's tennis team completed a 7-0 victory against William Peace on Senior Day during a rainy Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the Monarchs improve to 11-2 overall with a 6-2 record in conference play. Meanwhile, the Pacers drop to 1-11 on the season behind a 1-8 mark in league play.
In doubles play,
R.J. Clement and
Reid Rose defeated Patrick Ralph and Davis Felts at the first slot, 8-0, before
John Dangerfield and
Wynn Johnson finished 3-1 against Will Hall and Patrick Newsome at second doubles in a match that was retired. The matchup at the third position was not played.
During singles competition, Clement defeated Newsome 8-0, while Dangerfield posted an 8-0 win against Felts. Johnson also posted an 8-0 win against Ralph at the third slot and Kayhahan Alikhani earned an 8-0 win against Michael Savage at sixth singles.
Joey Binder and Andrew Anderson played to a 7-7 count before the match was called.
Methodist returns to action on Friday, April 7, at Ferrum beginning at 3 pm.
