Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Methodist men's tennis team recorded a 9-0 victory against UMass-Boston at the Gene Clayton Courts on Tuesday evening.
With the win, the Monarchs sit at 4-4 overall, while the Beacons drop to 0-2 as it continues a Spring Break string of matches.
In doubles, the tam of
Jacob Oehser and
Reid Rose defeated Miguel Beltran and Austin DeLasse, 8-0, at the top flight, while the pairing of Wynn Jonson and
Kayhahn Alikhani dropped Guang Huagng and Onkgopotse Mokoka 8-2 at the second slot. The tandem of
Trent Harner and
Coleman Baker moved past Joery Cyriaque and Tin Tran 8-1 at third doubles to complete the three-match doubles sweep.
RJ Clement dropped DeLasse, 6-0, 6-1, at the first singles spot, while Baker defeated Beltran 6-1, 6-0 at second position. Rose earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at the third slot, while Harner moved by Tran 6-2, 6-0.
Hayden Wilfong recorded a win against Cyriaque with a 6-0, 6-1 count and
Ryan Jenne completed the match sweep by making quick work of Huang, 6-0, 6-0.
Methodist is back in action tomorrow, March 14, against N.C. Wesleyan at 12 pm.
