MU Women's Lacrosse Set To Begin USA South Tournament

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Methodist women's lacrosse team clinched the No. 3 seed in the USA South Tournament and will host an opening round game on Tuesday, April 10, at Monarch Stadium, beginning at 4 pm.
 
The Monarchs finished the conference schedule with a 7-2 record in league play and hold an overall mark of 8-7. MU will face the No. 6 seed, Averett. The Cougars picked up an 18-8 victory on Sunday to clinch the No. 6 seed. Earlier in the season, MU faced off against the AU and earned a 14-9 victory.
 
The top two seeds in the conference, Meredith and Piedmont, earned a bye in the first round. The Lions, as the second-seeded team in the conference, will square off against the winner of Methodist and Averett.
 
The Angels, as the top-seeded team, will face the winner of the other opening round game as No. 4 Greensboro hosts No. 5 Ferrum. Both of the semifinal games are to be held in LaGrange, Ga., at Callaway Stadium, on Friday, April 13 with the league championship game on the following day.
 
Ticket prices for USA South Tournament games are set at $6 for adults and $3 for MU students and faculty members. Methodist students and faculty members with a valid student ID will be asked to sign in at the gate and the entrance cost will be covered by the school.
