Jeremy Prichard has advanced into the championship heat of the men's 400-meter hurdles at the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships at the SPIRE Institute, posting a seventh-place time of 52.95 seconds in Thursday afternoon's preliminary heats.
Nine runners from the three prelim heats -- the three heat winners and the next six fastest times -- will compete in the championship final Saturday at 2:25 p.m.
Four of the six runners from Prichard's heat made their way into the championship heat, including top seed Eddie Mahana of St. John Fisher (N.Y.) College who posted a time of 52.56 to win Heat 3.
Prichard's season best time of 52.36 is 1/100th of a second off his school record and career best time (52.35).
Prichard earned an NCAA D-III All-American honor during the 2019 indoor season with an eighth-place finish in the championship heat of the men's 400-meter dash. The top eight finishers in Saturday's event final earn outdoor all-American status.
