ROUND 1 NOTES
- Steingrimsen (39-36—75, +3) heated up after playing to 3 over through six holes. The sophomore All-American went on a roll after a bogey on the 6th, knocking down 13 consecutive par putts to close out her steady round.
- In 21st place is Jillian Drinkard (37-40—77, +5), who earned one birdie on the day, at No. 4, and adding 11 pars to her card.
- Tied for 41st is Emily Gresham (41-39—80, +8). The freshman also carded one birdie during her round (No. 8), and parred 10 holes including five consecutive from the 13th to the 17th.
- Another freshman, Ava Lucas (39-43—82, +10), is tied for 57th place after the opening round. Lucas was just 3 over at the turn but was inconsistent on the back nine, alternating pars with dropped shots. Her closing par on No. 18 should help her confidence heading into Day 2.
- Maggie Williams (42-42—84, +12) recovered from a quad-bogey on No. 5 by carding four pars to close out the front nine at 6 over. Her back nine included a birdie on the 13th, but also included seven bogeys, pushing her down the leaderboard into a tie for 70th.
