ROME, Ga. With day one of the Chick-Fil-A Invitational in the books, Methodist women's golf sits atop the standing with a team score of 5-over 293 on Monday at Coosa Country Club.
Four Monarchs find themselves in the top 15 after their first round cards. Leading all golfers is
Jillian Drinkard who posted a 2-under 70.

ROUND 1 NOTES
- A pretty easy day for Drinkard who parred her first 11 holes, all front nine and the first two holes after the turn. Two of the next three holes she would birdie before shooting par for the remainder of the round.
- Ingrid Steingrimsen looked to have a great day hitting five birdies to one bogey through the first 10 holes. Hole Nos. 11 & 13 gave her the most trouble with a double bogey and a quadruple bogey. She is currently in a tie for 6th place after finishing the round with a birdie and four pars for a score of 73 over one.
- Sitting in 10th overall is Ava Lucas who posted a 2-over 74. She did not do well out the gate with a double bogey and a bogey on two of the first three holes. She would finish strong on the back nine with two birdies to one bogey.
- Emily Gresham shot a four-over 76 in the opening round of the invite. This was good for a tie for 13th place. Her card read five bogies and one birdie for the day.
- Rounding out the final member of the team is Maggie Williams. She would record two double bogeys and seven bogeys on the course for an 83 over 11. Right now, she sits in a tie for 36th overall
- Also participating in the event, as an individual, is Natalie Brosig. She posted a card of 3-over 75, which is good for a tie for 11th place. In the first nine holes she would hit one birdie and two bogeys before getting three bogeys plus a birdie on the back nine.
