HOUSTON, Texas Late-morning thunderstorms rolled across the Bay Oaks Country Club Tuesday, putting a damper on the start Methodist's women had posted to begin the second and final round of the NCAA Women's Division III National Preview.
The inclement weather, after trying to wait out the storm, eventually forced the cancellation of the round and reverted the scoreboards back to the end of Monday's opening round.
The Monarchs (302, 14-over par) -- the only team playing under par through five holes Tuesday, and the tournament leader at the time of the delay -- will conclude the Preview in fourth place, two shots back of first-round leader Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) University (300, +12). The University of Redlands (Calif.) and George Fox (Ore.) University finish sandwiched between at 13-over 301 in a second-place tie.
Methodist All-American
Jillian Drinkard (38-36—73) finishes tied for fourth place on the individual leaderboard at 1 over.
