VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. Methodist men's and women's track and field competed Saturday in the VWU Spring Break Invitational at the Betty S. Rogers Track & Field Facility.

OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES
- Madison Pompey finished eighth in both the women's 200 meter race and 400m events, for a time of 29.71 in the 200m and one minute and 6.54 seconds in the 400m.
- In the women's 800m, Courtney Drumm and Caroline Stubblefield paced with each other to finish fifth and sixth for a 2:45.96 (Drumm) and 2:54.62 (Stubblefield) time.
- Hannah Williams and Jordan Pecorella both set new personal records in the Hammer throw with Williams throwing 21.97m and Pecorella throwing 23.31m.
- In the men's sprints, Richard Staley finished third in the 200m for a time of 23.12, just shy of second place by .02 of a second.
- The men's 4x100m relay team (AJ Matthews, Aaron Nash, Donte Robinson, Richard Staley) placed third with a time of 43.34 seconds.
- Drew Topoly had another outstanding performance, as he finished first in the men's 1500m for a time of 4:08.31 and second in the 800m for a time of 2:00.30.
- In the jumping events, Nash finished first in the men's long jump for a distance of 6.46m and placed first in the high jump with a height of 1.80m followed by Isaiah Cuthrell in second with a height of 1.75m. Malcolm Knight also landed first place in the triple, for a distance of 13.03m.
- Nick Wiggins did well in the Hammer throw, throwing 30.80m to earn third place, a new personal best.
- Komla Akogo competed in the men's javelin throw and finished third for a distance of 39.97m.
