WILMINGTON, N.C. Methodist men's and women's track and field competed in their first outdoor meet of the season at the Seahawk Invitational in Wilmington, N.C. on Saturday.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS
- An outstanding day for the men in their jumping events with three Monarchs placing in the top 10 for the long jump, Aaron Nash finished 2nd for a length of 6.68 meters, Malcolm Knight finished 7th (6.20m) and Isaiah Cuthrell fell just two places behind (6.13m).
- Three Monarchs also placed in the top 10 for the men's triple jump, Knight placed 2nd jumping 13.54m, Keyshaun Pete placed 4th (12.40m) and Cuthrell placed 5th (11.85m).
- In the men's high jump, Nash (1.83m/6'0") and Cuthrell (1.78m/5'10") placed 4th and 5th.
- In the throwing events, Carl Douglas and E'manuel Herbert placed 8th and 9th in shot put, Douglas throwing 13.11m and Herbert throwing 12.92m.
- Cameron Schwartz finished 2nd in the men's javelin, throwing 43.53m.
- In the men's running events, Austin Ezzell placed 9th in the 400m race for a time of 52.43 seconds and Xavier McLamb placed 10th in the 800m race for a time of 2:14.05.
- As for the Monarch women, in the running events Madison Pompey placed 7th in the 400m race for a time of 1:05.28, a new personal record while Courtney Drumm placed 9th in the 1500m race for a time of 5:19.36.
- In the field events, Tatyana Jordan placed 4th in the women's long jump for a distance of 4.98m and Lusiana Mailakeba finished 8th in the women's javelin throw for a distance of 19.18m.
