HIGH POINT N.C. Methodist's men's and women's track & field team competed all day Friday in the first day of the two-day Vertklasse Meeting hosted by High Point University.

OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES
- The Monarchs recorded multiple new personal records during the meet.
- In the men's high jump, Isaiah Cuthrell competed in Group B, landing a top 10 finish for ninth place, tied with Jordan Reid from Wheeling University, after clearing the bar at 1.80 meters (5'10.75"). Cuthrell recorded a new personal best in this event.
- Nick Wiggins also recorded a new personal best in the men's hammer throw, by a long shot. He out threw his previous personal best by 5m which is equivalent to just over 16 feet, finishing in 17th overall with a throwing distance of 35.21m (115'6").
- Carl Douglas recorded the best throw for the Monarchs in the men's shot put, throwing 11.97m (39' 3.75") to earn a spot in the top 20 (18th).
- Austin Ezzell and Will Gray both competed in the men's 1500m run, each registering new personal bests with times of 4:18.20 and 4:22.69 respectfully.
- Lusiana Mailakeba scored a new personal best in the women's javelin, throwing 20.72m (67'11.75") while Hannah Williams also competed in the same event, throwing a new season best, 17.73m (58'2").
- Drew Topoly competed in the final event of the day, the men's 10000m run, recording a new personal best, 32:35.87 to finish 10th overall.
