MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. The Methodist men's and women's track and field teams competed in day two of the Trojan Relays meet at the University of Mount Olive.
In the men's track events,
Drew Topoly had the best day, as he finished first overall for the 1500-meter run, with a time of three minutes and 57.93 seconds, registering a new personal best for this event.
Austin Ezzell had a solid day in the 400m dash, earning fourth place for a time of 51.41, just 17 tenths of a second behind third.
The 4x100m relay team, consisting of AJ Matthews, Aaron Nash, Jalen Rushin and Donte Robinson also finished fourth for a time of 43.09 seconds.
Will Gray placed in the top 10 for the 800m run, solidifying a time of 2:04.43 recording a new personal best.
Tamir Simons also placed in the top 10 but for the 400m hurdles, running a time of 1:02.01.
In the men's field events,
Aaron Nash had a strong day in the long jump as he earned first place after jumping a distance of 6.99m.
Isaiah Cuthrell placed fourth in the high jump after jumping a height of 1.85m.
Carl Douglas did the best in the throwing events, landing sixth place in the shot put after throwing 13.12m, while
Nick Wiggins threw 37.74m in the discus to earn tenth place.
As for the women's track events,
Madison Pompey competed in the 400m dash and earned a spot in the top 10 after securing ninth place with a time of1:04.84.
In the field events,
Chakalyn Patterson finished sixth in the high jump after jumping 1.38m.

Methodist will compete at the USA South Outdoor Championship starting on Wednesday, April 20 in Berea, Kentucky.
