HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Drinkard, the USA South's Conference Player of the Year, proved to be the best after her performance over the three days in Spartanburg. She started the day off on a good note, hitting four pars and a birdie. Following the birdie she had one hiccup with a double bogey which set her score back one-over par. After rounding to the front nine, she shot one bogey and one birdie before finishing the round of 18.
  • Gresham secured second place after starting the day tied with teammate Steingrimsen. On the back nine, she shot three bogeys, making her score go three-over. The front nine witnessed a comeback, as she carded four birdies in a row to finish the day, even par 72.
  • Brosig played solid golf to move up one spot from fourth to third after carding a three-over 75 score. She was the only Monarch to hit an eagle during the round and hit it on hole four, bringing her score from six-over to four-over. After a struggling first nine holes she brought her score down by two strokes.
  • Sliding in at third-place along with Brosig was Steingrimsen who dropped one place on the leaderboards from round two. She also struggled on the back nine, hitting two double bogeys on holes 13 and 15 but was able to bounce back in the front nine to shoot one-under and drop her score from five-over to four-over.
  • Maggie Williams (78-79–73-230, +14) had her best day on the course out of the three rounds, as she finished the day with a 73 (+1). With this score, Williams placed sixth overall, two strokes behind fifth place Monika Vicario of Meredith College.
