ROME, Ga. On Friday afternoon, the USA South Athletic Conference announced their All-Conference Awards.
Jordan Theron highlights the three Methodist players that were picked as Theron was named First-Team All-Conference. He also made First-Team All-East Division with teammates Quinn McNarama and
Henry Murray collecting Second-Team All-East honors. Representing the Monarchs on the All-Sportsmanship team is senior
Harrison Bitzberger.
The Durban, South Africa native, Theron has been dominant this season for Methodist, to claim his second consecutive first-team recognition. He has compiled overall records of 11-2 & 9-3, in singles and doubles respectively. During singles, he mainly played in the No.1 spot (9-2) but played twice in No.2s (2-0). Theron participated in five USA South contests and went undefeated. All of his double matches have come in the No.1 position, with McNarama being his main partner. The two have gone 8-3 together, including 3-1 in conference action.
Junior, McNarmara, was named to the Second-Team All-East team and had an overall record of 6-6 at No.1, 2, & 3 singles. McNamara and his doubles partner, Theron, are currently riding a four-match win streak in No.1 doubles. This is McNamara's first postseason award in his career.
This is Murray's first time being honored by league office, for his regular season effort, as he made Second-Team All-East. His overall singles record is 4-6 with a doubles record of 5-8.
Bitzberger made the all-sportsmanship team after he posted an overall record of 2-2 in singles and an 3-9 record in doubles.
Methodist finished fourth in the East Division with an overall record of 10-9 and 4-3 in conference play.
