OPENING ROUND NOTES

- Three Monarchs opened round two with even pars, to start Methodist on a good note.
- Jillian Drinkard (72-74-146, +2), led the Monarch squad with a two-over par 74. She carded four bogeys but canceled two with her two birdies on holes No. 6 & 9. Drinkard remains in the top five on the individual leaderboards as she moved up one spot for a six-way tie in fourth place.
- Ingrid Steingrimsen (75-76-151, +7) trailed behind Drinkard again on day 2 with a 4-over par score. She was one-under going into the turn for the back nine, and collected a birdie on the 10th hole to drop two-under. Upon doing so well, holes 13-15 gave her some trouble as she carded three back-to-back bogeys. She went on to answer with two pars but ended her day on a negative note with a triple bogey to set her four-over. Steingrimsen remains in the top 20 but dropped five places in a tie for 20th.
- Maggie Williams (76-81-157, +13) dropped tremendously on the leaderboards after having a tough day with her shot. After closing out the front nine just three over, four bogeys and a double bogey set her nine-over after 18. Williams will look to bounce back during the last two rounds of the tournament.
- Rounding out the Monarch golfers are Emily Gresham (77-82-159, +15) and Natalie Brosig (78-82-160, +16).
- Both Gresham and Brosig struggled through the first four holes, but Brosig found a breakthrough on the following hole. She carding a birdie on hole five, which led to an eagle on hole seven, being the only Monarch to do so thus far in the tournament.
- Gresham had a rough start on the front nine as well but managed to turn it around on the back nine to go three-over.
- Both Gresham and Brosig finished the round 10-over, dropping their placement on the leaderboards by 27 and 26 slots respectively.
