THE DETAILS
  • The Monarchs began Round 3 on the first tee box of Bay Oaks.
  • It was a tale of two halves for Methodist as the ladies looked to have figured out the course on the front half, going four under par, but had a difficult time on the back half by going 10 over par.
  • Staying right outside the top spot, at a tie for second, was Jillian Drinkard (72-74-72—218, +2) after her second even par day in the tournament. She was three under through her first nine holes and cruised along her first few holes on the final nine. Drinkard then hit some terrible luck by bogeying four of her six last holes, but she remained even by converting a birdie on No. 16.
  • It was a similar story for Ingrid Steingrimsen (75-76-76—227, +11) as she also was three under heading into the turn. Unlike Drinkard, Steingrimsen was not able to even things out during the back nine. Four bogeys and a triple bogey finished her third trip around a 76 (+4) to put her in a tie for 24th overall.
  • Having her best day in the tournament was Emily Gresham (77-82-73—232, +16) after carding a one over 73. She found herself one under through the first four holes (two birdies and a bogey) before getting into some trouble on Nos. 8-10 (two bogeys and a double bogey). Gresham finished off well though by parring six of her eight final holes, along with two birdies, as she finds herself in a tie for 40th place.
  • Maggie Williams (76-81-77—234, +18) is currently in a tie for 47th but is only two strokes behind Gresham. Williams posted a five over 77 on her third day of the event. Her card read a birdie, four bogeys, and a double bogey.
  • In a tie for 72nd, Natalie Brosig (78-82-81—241, +25) shot an 81 (+9) for the day. Her first nine holes saw her make four bogeys, a double bogey and a birdie. Her back nine was almost a mirror image as she made three additional bogeys, a double bogey and a birdie.
UP NEXT
  • Methodist has one final day to improve on their team score and potentially move up a few spots on the leaderboard. The Monarchs are scheduled to tee off at 8:20 AM on hole No. 10.
  • The championship cuts down to the top 15 teams -- and top six individuals not on those teams -- after Thursday and completes the championship's 4th round on Friday.
