MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. On Thursday and Friday
Cameron Schwartz went to the UMO Multis Meet held at the University of Mount Olive to compete in the decathlon race. This was Schwartz's first ever decathlon race and the program's first ever Monarch to compete at a decathlon meet.

PERFORMANCE
- After the two-day performance, Schwartz finished 11th overall with 4794 points.
- Below are the results from the 10 events:
- 100-meter dash: 11.50 seconds
- Long jump: 6.24m
- Shot put: 7.64m
- High jump: 1.65m
- 400-meter: 56.74 seconds
- 110-meter hurdles: 17.35 seconds
- Discus throw: 22.74m
- Pole vault: 2.70m
- Javelin throw: 42.99m
- 1500-meter: 5:42.89 seconds
- In half of the events for the decathlon, Cameron exceeded or tied his collegiate best.
- Collegiate best time in the 100m with a time of 11.50 seconds.
- Collegiate best jump in the long jump with jump of 6.24m (20'5").
- Collegiate best in high jump with a jump of 1.65m (5'5").
- Collegiate best in 110m hurdles with time of 17.35.
- Tied collegiate best in pole vault with jump of 2.70m (8'10").

Schwartz closes out the spring season with the decathlon meet. Two Monarchs,
Aaron Nash and
Drew Topoly will compete at the UMO Final Qualifier meet in the 3000m steeplechase and long jump respectively, on Sunday, May 15
th for a shot to qualify for the NCAA's.
