LYNCHBURG, Va. A couple of Methodist men's track and field members traveled to Lynchburg, Virginia today for the outdoor Liberty Twilight Qualifier, hosted by Division I Liberty University.
The first event of the day that the Monarch squad competed in was the men's long jump.
Aaron Nash landed his best distance during his third attempt of six, to score a spot in sixth place on the leaderboards. He recorded a new personal best, 7.05m in the sand to only fall shy of top five by 0.10 of a meter.
The next event for Methodist was the men's 4x100 meter relay race which consisted of
AJ Matthews, Nash,
Jalen Rushin, and Donte Robinson. The foursome finished second behind Ferrum College with a time of 43.03 seconds.
Austin Ezzell represented the Monarchs in the men's 800m run, and came just shy of breaking his own personal best, scoring a time of 1:57.95, to finish 17
th overall.
In
Drew Topoly's first ever 3000m steeplechase race, he finished first overall, recording a time of 10:02.40 to close out the evening.

The same group will travel to Black Mountain, North Carolina on Friday, May 6 for the Last One Best One all-day outdoor meet, hosted by Montreat College.
