TEMPE, Ariz.  The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), on June 8, released its 2022 ITA Division III All-American list in men's singles, among the 28 names was Methodist University's Jordan Theron.

The honorific "All-American" title is given to student-athletes that are a top 8 seed in the NCAA singles tournament, win one round at the NCAA singles tournament, finish in the Top 20 in the final ITA Men's Singles Rankings, win ITA Fall Regional Tournament, or win a first-round match at the ITA Cup.

Back in the fall, Theron claimed third-place at the Division III Men's Singles ITA Cup which is how he claims his status this season. This makes it back-to-back years that Theron has been named an All-American and the first men's tennis player in program history to be a two-time winner.

Theron finished the year ranked 28th nationally and seventh in the Atlantic South Region in singles play, after his team and himself finished their season in the semifinals of the USA South Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Tournament.

The Monarch sophomore posted a 20-5 record in singles play this season, majority at the 1-singles position. He was named First-Team All-Conference by the league for the second-straight season.

Of those five losses, Theron lost to two D-I, two D-II, and one D-III opponents. He also picked up three single victories against two different University of Richmond and one The Citadel combatants.
