Coleman Named Assistant to the Deputy Director of Athletics

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Methodist's Vice President and Director of Athletics Dave Eavenson has announced the hiring of Brianne Coleman as the Assistant to the Deputy Director of Athletics. Coleman will work directly under the Deputy Director of Athletics, DeeDee Jarman, while also assisting other aspects within athletics. This role is fully funded through the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minorities and Women's Internship Grant, which is the first time the university has received this position. 

"I am ecstatic for this opportunity to have Brianne as our NCAA Division III Ethnic Minorities and Women's Internship Candidate," Jarman said. "I look forward to working with her and feel most definite she will bring some great ideas to our campus."
 
A native of Creedmoor, North Carolina, Coleman graduated from Salem College in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a Minor in Coaching. She recently completed an internship in the spring of 2022 with the Salem College Director of Athletics and Assistant Director of Athletics for Internal Operations.
 
While at Salem she was a four-year member of the softball program where she started all 90 games appeared in and finished with a batting average of .436, an on base percentage of .537 and a fielding percentage of .943. She earned USA South Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year (2019), USA South First-Team All-Conference (2019), USA South First-Team East Division (2019), USA South All-Tournament Team (2019), and USA South First-Team All-Conference (2022). She also received the 2021-2022 Salem College Nan Tilley Athletics Department Service Award & 2018-2019 Salem College Athlete of the Year Award.
