WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. Methodist men's and women's track & field teams went to the JDL FastTrack facility on Friday to participate in the first day of the Camel City Invitational.
The biggest news to take from Day 1 was the new school record set in the men's 4,000-meter distance medley relay. The quartet of
Austin Ezzell,
Alex Topoly,
Drew Topoly, and
Josiyah Woods came in with a time of 10 minutes, 46.89 seconds, breaking the previous MU record of 10:54.46 which had been set during the 2020-21 indoor season.

OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES
- In the men's 60m, Aaron Nash set a personal record by clocking in a 7.17 second sprint which was also third fastest time in his heat. After all heats were done he would end with the fourth fastest overall but would miss the cut by two to advance to the finals.
- Both Kayla Mitchell and Brandi Gardner ran the women's 200m and both did well. Mitchell finished in second during her heat with a time of 26.76, while the heat Gardner competed in saw her place third following a time of 27.09.
- Mitchell would also run in the women's 400m. Her 1:00.57 would place her third overall, only .29 seconds behind the runner-up.
- Coming in the top-10 of the men's 600m was Ezzell with a time of 1:26.16.
- Still just outside a top-10 spot was Gardner in the women's long jump. She ranked in the top spot among her competitors in her heat but her best leap of 5.19m was .05 short of making the finals.
