MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. Methodist University track and field teams competed on the final day of the Sixth Annual Adidas Trojan Challenge, hosted by the University of Mount Olive, on Saturday. Following all 18 events, the women finished in sixth place out of 13 scoring teams while the men came in eighth (out of 10).

PERSONAL RECORDS
- Patti Busch set a new PR in the women's 800-meter race with a time of two minutes, 32.61 seconds.
- While coming in fifth, Courtney Drumm ran a 4:57.83 in the women's 1,500m to set a new all-time PR in the event. She would also place fifth in the race.
- Brandi Gardner recorded a new triple jump, on the women's side, PR of 10.80m. This is equivalent to 35 feet and five inches.
- After setting a PR last weekend in the 3K Steeplechase, Drew Topoly broke his 9:27.13 time with a 9:21.29. He also finished in second place for the race only trialing the leader, an athlete from Division I East Carolina University, by 2.33 seconds.
OTHER PERFORMANCES
- Kayla Mitchell and Treazure Rosario Watson ran a 25.95 and 26.66 respectively in the women's 200-meter dash. For Mitchell this was the first time she cracked a sub-26 second sprint.
- In the women's 4x100m relay, Erykalyn Neal, Rosario Watson, Mitchell, and Gardner won the event with a time of 49.35. Narrowly beating out the team from Fayetteville State University by .02 seconds.
- Rosario Watson, Mitchell, and Gardner ran in the 4x400 as well with Busch being their fourth team member. The group came in third with a time of 4:12.32.
- Coming in fifth for the women's long jump was Gardner with a best leap of 5.60m (18' 4").
- Rebecca McGaughnea best discus toss traveled 31.26m.
- In women's hammer throw, Jordan Pecorella best mark went 28.02m.
- The men's 800m saw Austin Ezzell come in fourth place following a time of 1:59.93, just missing third by .04 seconds.
- Cracking the top-10 in the men's 1,500m were Alex Topoly (4:14.64) and Jack Barriger (4:15.52). The two fed off each other to push themselves in the race, as Barriger was ahead of Topoly for majority of the race until Toploy pulled ahead down the stretch.
- Isaiah Cuthrell did well in the men's triple jump with a 12.49m mark, 40 feet and 11 inches.
- Logan Williams finished in fifth for the men's javelin throw with a 39.46m mark.
