MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. The Methodist University men's and women's track & field teams were split up on Friday and Saturday. A handful of athletes, mainly distance runners, were at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic hosted by the University of Lynchburg while the rest of the team competed at the Trojan Relays hosted by the University of Mount Olive.

TOP PERFORMANCES (Dennis Craddock)
- Coming in first place, out of 34, in the men's 5,000-meter race was senior Drew Topoly with a time of 14 minutes 42.28 seconds. That time would break the all-time 5k outdoor record last held by MU Athletics Hall of Famer John Storms, who set is back in 1988 with a 14:47.90.
- Fellow senior Courtney Drumm ran in the women's 10k and her time of 39:47.91 was good for second place.
- In the men's 1,500m, freshman Alex Topoly and junior Austin Ezzell ran some personal best. Topoly finished the race in 4:12.10 while Ezzell completed it in 4:15.64.
TOP PERFORMANCES (Trojan Relays)
- Sophomore Aaron Nash placed third in the men's long jump with his best leap of 7.00 meters.
- Three Monarchs finished in the top-10 of the men's javelin. Freshman Logan Williams (38.53m) placed the highest at second overall while Alex Stickland (35.97m) and Harper Fordham (31.76m) came in fifth and eighth, respectively.

- Men's 200m: AJ Matthews - 22.55 seconds, Josiyah Woods - 22.56, Darnell Alexander – 25.35
- Men's 4x100 Relay: Matthews, Nash, Woods, and Danorie Mack – 42.22 seconds (season best)
- Men's 110m hurdles: Micah McCorvey – 16.44 seconds
- Men's Shotput: Jonathon Steele – 10.94m
- Men's Hammer Throw: Nick Wiggins – 35.41m, Steele – 30.66, Vincent Myers – 21.38
- Men's Discus: Shomare Hazley – 36.01m, Strickland – 27.10
- Men's Javelin: Strickland, Fordham, Camden Johnson – 23.28m
- Women's 200m: Treazure Rosario Watson - 26.35 seconds
- Women's 400m: Kayla Mitchell – 59.13 seconds, Patti Busch - 1:02.22
- Women's Shotput: Kaitlyn Huskey - 6.86m
- Women's Hammer Throw: Rebecca McGaughnea - 25.97m

Methodist will have a select few athletes that will compete in the upcoming 2023 Aggie Classic, Friday April 21, while the rest of the team will get ready for the USA South Outdoor Track & Field Championships, April 27-28.
