PEMBROKE, N.C. Methodist University track and field teams traveled to UNC Pembroke to participate the 2023 Braves Classic. The Monarchs battled not so great weather conditions on their way to a fifth (out of 10) and sixth place finishes, respectively for the men and women.

TOP PERFORMANCES
- Austin Ezzell ran in the men's 400 meter race and came in second place with a time of 52.78 seconds.
- Placing in the top-10 of the men's 100m was Aaron Nash (5th) and Danorie Mack (10th) with times of 11.77 and 12.09 seconds, respectively.
- With a third overall placement, Alex Topoly raced in the men's 800. He clocked in with a time of 2:08.76.
- Both Courtney Drumm and Patti Busch claimed two top-10 finishes in a couple of different events. Drumm came in second place (5:12.61) in the women's 1,500m and then came in 5th (2:40.82) in the 800m.
- Busch's time of 1:05.31 was good for fifth in the women's 400m before placing in seventh (2:46.39) in the 800.

Methodist is back at it next weekend, April 14-15, when the teams head to the Trojan Relays hosted by the University of Mount Olive.
