INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. Back on May 1, the National Collegiate Athletic Association announced its official selections for the 2023 Division III Women's Golf Championships. Among the 29 teams that will be competing, the tenth-ranked Methodist University will be making its 36th appearance on the national stage.
The Monarchs earned an automatic bid into the national tournament after capturing their third-straight USA South Athletic Conference championship. Just like her team, graduate student
Jillian Drinkard took home the conference tournament medalist honors for the third year in a row.
The 29-team field at the NCAA tournament will be comprised of:
- 25 squads with an automatic-qualification from Pool A (conference champions from each conference that meets the requirements for AQs)
- 4 teams from Pool B and from Pool C (reserved for institutions from AQ conferences that are not their conference champion, and the remaining teams in Pool B)
- 6 individuals not on teams selected for the championship will also be extended bids
Hosted at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, the championships will take place May 9-12. Following the first 54 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams to compete the final day.

Kelsie Warren will be bringing an experienced team down to the sunshine state. The group consist of Drinkard (fourth appearance),
Emily Gresham (second),
Maggie Williams (third),
Natalie Brosig (second), and
Jenna Rutledge (first).
Methodist heads into nationals with four players ranked in the top 100 of the Golfstat individual rankings. In the top 20 are Drinkard (No. 10) and Gresham (No. 20) while Williams is ranked 80th and Brosig is 93rd.
