FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. This past Saturday, May 11, Methodist University held its 61st Spring Commencement Ceremony at the Crown Coliseum, where students from the Class of 2024 were celebrated and received their degrees.
Methodist University President Stanley T. Wearden congratulated the more than 380 graduate and undergraduate students who officially completed academic degrees from more than 80 areas of study that are offered on campus and online at MU.
During the ceremony several individual students were recognized for their time at Methodist University, including
Emily Skowronski, a member of the women's golf team.
Skowronski, who majored in Accounting with a concentration in PGA Golf Management, was named this year's Lucius Stacy Weaver Award winner.
The award is presented annually in honor of the first president of what was originally Methodist College, L. Stacy Weaver. Candidates are judged based on exceptional scholarship, excellence of character, leadership abilities, devotion to Christian ideals, creative contributions, and humanitarian service.
