LOUISBURG, N.C. For the second time this season, a member of the Methodist men's cross country team has captured a first–place finish, with
Chance McCubbin earning the medal this time as he crossed the finish line with a time of 29:08.9. Navigating a hilly, challenging course, McCubbin and
Rafael Shilengitha (29:52.06) earned the top two spots in the men's race at the Ben Snelling Cancer Classic on Friday afternoon, while Methodist saw success in the women's race too.

MONARCH NOTES
- On the women's side, the freshmen continued to impress with Yamile Lopez Dominguez leading the way with a time of 24:11.21 for the Monarchs, finishing in fifth place out of 20 runners. Next in line was Leilani Rankin in sixth with a 24:18.54 time. Savanna Alvarado (25:12.18) and Kamiya McNeill (26:28.39) also earned top–10 finishes, finishing eighth and 10th. Earning spots 11–13 were Treazure Rosario Watson (26:29.04), Abigail Rowe (26:33.35) and Mally King (28:05.29), while Jayden Hoffman (32:39.46), Alyssa Cervantes (32:48.43) and Imani Kee (35:36.06) were the final three Monarchs to cross the finish line.
- McCubbin and Shilengitha took first and second out of 17 runners in the men's competition, while Keon Lassiter, who posted a time of 34:27.36, secured a third top–five finish for the Monarchs by taking fifth. Vondre Nelson (37:23.51) claimed the last spot inside the top 10, while Xavier Wilborn (41:44.54) and Damian Jefferson (46:14.29) were the final two finishers for Methodist.
