ROME, Ga. The USA South Athletic Conference men's lacrosse coaches released their 2026 preseason poll on Tuesday afternoon, with Methodist projected to finish third after collecting 50 points and one first-place vote.
Head coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team in the balloting.
Defending regular-season and tournament champion Pfeiffer University sits atop the poll with 64 points and eight first-place votes. Piedmont University follows closely in second with 52 points. The Monarchs edged the Knights for third place, as Southern Virginia finished fourth with 48 points.
Rounding out the poll, Greensboro College placed fifth with 32 points, narrowly ahead of Huntingdon College in sixth with 31 points. William Peace University was selected seventh with 24 points, followed by LaGrange College (12 points) and Brevard College (11 points).
The 2026 USA South Men's Lacrosse Tournament will once again be conducted exclusively on campus sites. The top six teams in the regular-season standings will advance to postseason play, beginning with first-round action on Saturday, April 25. Higher-seeded teams will host first-round contests, while the top seed will host both semifinal matchups on Thursday, April 30, as well as the championship game on Saturday, May 2.
