ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Methodist men's soccer team traveled up I-95 for a vital USA South clash against North Carolina Wesleyan University as the Monarchs fought hard to ultimately draw the Battling Bishops, 1-1 at Scalf Field on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half on both sides of the ball remained scoreless as seniors Josh Mott and Angel Alarcon took the lone strikes for Methodist in the first 45 minutes. Senior Trey Gohr snagged two saves in the first stanza to keep the Monarchs in the contest.
- Sophomore Gerard Bradley would send a scoring attempt for the Monarchs that would convert, coming from junior Cameron Lambert's assist in the 52nd minute of play, putting Methodist on the board, 1-0 over N.C. Wesleyan.
- Jesper Fornebo for the Battling Bishops would match the Monarchs tally off the assisted pass from Levi Engdahl, pushing the score to be 1-1 between the two squads heading into the 71st minute.
- The battle would ultimately end in a stalemate for both squads, with Lambert and junior Alex Ramson failing to cash in on their two scoring chances for the Monarchs.
