VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. Taking on Virginia Wesleyan University, the Methodist men's lacrosse team suffered a 13-goal loss on Saturday afternoon, dropping the road contest to the Marlins by a score of 23–10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Marlins netted the first two goals, to which Jacob Burnette answered with a goal for Methodist at the 10:34 mark of the first quarter. After another pair of scores by Virginia Wesleyan, Logan Florio found the back of the net to pull the Monarchs back with two. However, a six-goal scoring run for the home team made the score 10–2, with Logan Garrett tallying a goal just before the end of the first quarter to shrink the margin to seven.
- Virginia Wesleyan outscored Methodist 7–2 in the second period, with Jay Legg and Cayden Glatfelter producing scores for the Monarchs.
- Garrett and J.R. Newman each recorded a pair of second-half goals, while Legg added a score and an assist to his total. The Monarchs lost the third quarter 3–1 before outscoring the Marlins 4–3 in the final frame.
