FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. In a rematch of the 2025 USA South Championship, the Methodist men's lacrosse team hosted the Falcons of Pfeiffer University on Wednesday evening. The Monarchs were unable to keep pace, falling 18–2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons scored two quick goals within the first minute and a half, but Jay Legg found the back of the net next after a Methodist timeout to make the score 2–1. Pfeiffer ended the first quarter on a four-goal run, then scored the first goal of the second quarter to go up 7–1.
- With 10 minutes to go in the half, the Monarchs took advantage of an extra-man opportunity, with Legg assisting RJ Breeden for a score.
- From there, the Monarchs would be shutout the rest of the way as the Falcons continued to pile on the goals.
FAST FACTS
- Ethan Jahr made some incredible stops, totaling a career-high 29 saves on the night. Many of the goals scored by the Falcons came from lapses in the Methodist defense, leaving Jahr all alone with an attackman in his face.
- Pfeiffer flexed its muscles on faceoffs, claiming 17 out of 21 on the night to possess the ball a lot more than Methodist. The Falcons attempted 67 shots overall compared to Methodist's 24 and collected 41 ground balls compared to just 20 for the Monarchs.
