WILLIAMSBURG, Va. The No. 3-ranked Methodist men's golf team played its first two rounds of the Sam Snead Collegiate on Monday and sits in second place with a team score of 576 (+8). The Monarchs trail No. 2 Carnegie Mellon University by one stroke after rounds of 293 (+9) and 283 (-1) at Golden Horseshoe Golf Club.

FIRST TWO ROUNDS
- Senior Haden Ruby paced the Monarchs and sits in a three-way tie for second place with a two-round total of 141 (-1). Ruby opened the tournament with a two-over 73 that included three birdies before bouncing back with a three-under 68 in the second round, highlighted by five birdies.
- Senior Beau Brewer is tied for fifth place with a two-round score of 143 (+1). Brewer carded an even-par 71 in the opening round with four birdies before recording six birdies in the second round on his way to a one-over 72.
- Senior Jonny Lewis also finds himself inside the top 10, tied for eighth with a total of 144 (+2). Lewis posted a three-over 74 in the first round before rebounding with a one-under 71 in round two, highlighted by five birdies.
- Junior Todd Moyer sits tied for 21st with a two-round total of 148 (+6). Moyer opened the tournament with a four-over 75 before improving to a two-over 73 in the second round, recording three birdies in each round.
- Sophomore William Plageman rounds out the Methodist lineup, tied for 55th with a score of 153 (+11). Plageman made three birdies in each round, shooting a five-over 76 in the opening round and a six-over 77 in round two.
UP NEXT
Methodist returns to the course on Tuesday, April 14, for the final round of the Sam Snead Collegiate. The Monarchs are scheduled to tee off at 9 AM.
