HOW IT HAPPENED
- Josh Mott kicked it off for Methodist with an early goal in the sixth minute of action, coming off foul trouble from Notre Dame (Md.), placing the Monarchs up 1-0.
- More foul problems were brewing for the Gators, leading to a PK Goal for the Monarchs by senior Garrett Panos, being his first goal of the 2026 campaign to go up 2-0 in the 42nd minute.
- Another foul occurred inside the box for NDM in the 69th minute of play, driving Josh Mott to score his fifth goal of the year, second of the match, driving Methodist to a 3-0 lead.
- Both squads kept each other in check as no offensive gameplay was accumulating goals by either side for the closing 20-minute stretch of the contest.
- Two last minute scores by the Gators allowed the game to become a tight-knit battle in the end, with Kim O'Sullivan and Leon Awesso converting two shots for NDM to cut it to one in the closing minutes.
