NEW ORLEANS, La. - Methodist University junior
Kristyn Zeiler has received USTFCCCA ross Country All-Academic recognition.
The USTFCCCA All-Academic award honors those student-athletes who have succeeded both academically and athletically. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.3 cumulative grade point average and must finish in the top 35 among the field at their respective NCAA regional meet.
The 188 USTFCCCA All-Academic honorees represent 92 schools around the country. The list includes 13 who were reported to have 4.0 or better GPAs at the end of the 2009 fall semester including Zeiler.
Zeiler competed in six cross country meets this fall earning three individual wins. She ran a personal best 23:24.90 in the 6K and a personal record of 18:05.42 in the 5K race. After being named the USA South Runner of the Year, Zeiler placed sixth at the conference championship meet and placed 14th at the regional championships, just missing qualifying for nationals.
