Monarchs Win Third Straight

Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist lacrosse team scored first and never trailed as they cruised to the 16-5 win over Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday.

Jasmine Stephens put the Monarchs on the board first but Lancaster Bible tallied with a goal at the other end. The Monarchs came back with three straight goals to lead 4-1 through the first ten minutes of play. The Chargers came back with two of their own to cut the lead to one, but Methodist finished the half with a 7-4 lead.

The Monarchs dominated the second half outscoring Lancaster Bible 9-1. Alexis Veeder scored all four of her goals in the second half as Methodist finished with the 16-5 victory.

Brittany St. Jacques and Stephens paced the Monarchs with five goals a piece. Veeder added four goals and two assists and Abby Harmon scored two goals with an assist.

Lindsey Cosgray had 12 saves in goal for Methodist and Nicole Valinteno made 10 stops for the Chargers.

The Monarchs will host Greensboro on Saturday at 12 p.m.
