NORMAN, Okla. – The 24 honorees for the 2010 All-Nicklaus Team have been announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Methodist senior
Josh Schrader was one of 24 top collegiate golfers.
Players from Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA were recognized for their outstanding play during the past collegiate season.
The All-Nicklaus Team was created in 2008, and is not only named for history's greatest player but also a long-time supporter of collegiate and amateur golf. Jack Nicklaus, a Big Ten and NCAA Champions at The Ohio State University, helped inspire and create the Jack Nicklaus Award in 1988. The Nicklaus Award is annually given to the top collegiate men's golfer in Division I, II, III and the NAIA.
Schrader competed in all 11 events this season helping the Monarchs to nine wins including the NCAA Division III Championship. He finished in the top-10 in all but one tournament while earning three medalist honors at the Elizabethtown Invitational, Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational and the USA South Conference Championship. Schrader averaged 72.6 strokes for the year with a season low 67 at Royal Lakes. He earned First Team All-Conference recognition and All-Tournament honors before capping off the season with First Team All-American honors after finishing fourth at the National Championship.
