SPARTANBURG, S.C. Drew Topoly of the Methodist men's cross county finishes in the top-10 Saturday morning at the NCAA D-III South Regional Championship held at Milliken Research Center, in a field of over 150 runners in the men's 8-kilometer race.
Topoly, who placed seventh with a time of 25 minutes, 34.06 seconds, qualifies for the NCAA D-III National Championships as an individual next Saturday November 20. He is the first Monarch men's runner since 2007 to reach the national stage.
As a whole, the men's team came in 15th place. This matches the best mark by the men's side in program history, as they did it back in 2017.

MONARCH NOTES
- Cracking the top-50 was Xavier McLamb with a time of 27:10.7 for 50th place.
- Less than a minute between each other were Will Gray and Austin Ezzell. Gray came in 92nd with a time of 28:39.3, while Ezzell ran a 29:19.8 to come in 106th.
- Rounding out the members of the team chase is Jackson Barriger with a 129th finish after running a 31:43.8.
- Also running for the men were Kamden Payne (131st, 32:11.4) and Armie Haynes (136th, 33:54.3).
- Though the women's did have a team score, there were still three lady Monarchs that ran individually in the 6-kilometer. Ainsley McGinn (116th, 27:56.6), Madison Pompey (117th, 28:03.6), and Caroline Stubblefield (126th, 28.28.6).
