ROUND 1 NOTES
- Leading the way for the Monarchs is Maggie Williams, who went even par (72), during the first round to be in a tie for fourth. She was looked poised for a good day as she birdies two of the first four holes but then bogeyed on holes 5-8. On the back nine, Williams settled in by making three birdies to one bogey.
- Ingrid Steingrimsen finds herself in a tie for sixth overall after carding a one-over 73. Just like Williams, Steingrimsen birdie two holes early on followed by two bogeys & another birdie to be one under after the front nine. Her only major blemish on the last nine came when she tripled bogeyed hole 18 after making seven pars and a birdie.
- Rounding out the top 10 placement, at T10, we have Emily Gresham with a three-over 75. During her back nine, twice she birdied a hole and then bogey the one after it to cancel each other out for even par. She would complete her front nine with three bogies.
- Natalie Brosig, who's in a tie for 13th, sits one stroke back of Gresham with a 76 (+4). Her first nine holes went smoothly with two birdies and one bogey than came her back nine, where she shot three bogeys and one double bogey.
- Jillian Drinkard looked to have some trouble on the course as she finished the front part three over. At the turn, it seemed she may have figured it with back-to-back birdies but the next three holes went triple bogey, bogey, & bogey. She finished on a positive note by parring three of the last four, including a birdie, for a score of five-over 77, which was good for a tie in 20th overall.
- Competing as an individual in the event is Marybeth Gainer, who is in 37th place & carded am 82 (+10). She got here with three bogies and a double bogey on the front part of the course before double bogeying twice & adding on an additional bogey.
