CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. The Women's Golf Coaches Association released its most recent Mizuno WGCA Coaches Preseason Poll, on Friday afternoon. Methodist University falls one spot to be in a tie for No. 4, after garnering 230 points.
Still atop the poll is Emory University (Ga.) but that is shared with the University of Redlands (Calif.), who leaped frog from No. 7 in the preseason poll. Both institutions collected 287 pts with the Eagles picking up eight first-place votes while the Bulldogs received the final four first-place tallies.
The only other team ahead of the Monarchs is George Fox University (Ore.) coming in at No. 3 with 241 pts. Carnegie Mellon University (Pa.) sit at the same level as Methodist as it's the Tartans who share the No. 4 spot. This is fitting as the Monarchs and Carnegie Mellon came in a tie for fifth overall at last weekend's NCAA Division III Women's National Preview.
Methodist takes the course again from September 25-26 down in Montgomery, Alabama. They will participate in the annual MCC Women's Intercollegiate, hosted by Huntingdon College, at the Montgomery Country Club.
