ROME, Ga.  Coming off a 38-27 victory over LaGrange, the Methodist football team had three student-athletes who were named Athletes of the Week by the USA South Athletic Conference on Monday.
 
With two receptions for 26 yards – including the first touchdown catch of his collegiate career – Marcus Minehart was named Offensive Rookie of the Week. Minehart's 26 receiving yards were a career high, and his touchdown in the third quarter broke a tie to put Methodist ahead 31-24.
 
Recording career highs of seven tackles and two pass breakups, Craig Morton III garnered Defensive Rookie of the Week honors. Morton notched five solo tackles and was assisted on two others.
 
Averaging 45.7 yards per punt, Kenneth Schoene booted the ball for a total of 137 yards on Saturday, earning him Special Teams Player of the Week accolades. Schoene pinned the opponent inside the 20-yard line twice (both times during the fourth quarter) while his third punt went for a long of 50 yards.
