FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist University head football coach
Keven Williams has announced the program's 2023 schedule. This upcoming slate features three teams from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and the seven USA South Athletic Conference contests.
The Monarchs start off on the road at Shenandoah University (9/2), where the team looks to end a current six-game losing streak against the Hornets. Week two is when the team makes its home debut against a familiar foe in Guilford College (9/9). Methodist concludes its non-conference schedule with an away date, September 16, versus Washington and Lee University.
The chase for the USA South title kicks off in week four as the Knights of Southern Virginia University (9/23) visits Monarch Stadium. On the final day of September, Methodist travels down to the state of Alabama and squares up against the defending conference champions in Huntingdon College.
The first week of October is the scheduled bye week for the Monarchs. Methodist then returns to Fayetteville to play Brevard College on the 14th. A trip to the Magnolia State is up next, October 21, as the team takes on Belhaven University.
Weeks nine and ten will be the Monarchs' final two homes games. First it will be the Homecoming game, October 28, against North Carolina Wesleyan University, which will be played under the lights for the first time in MU Homecoming history. Then on November 4, Methodist will honor its senior class before its contest with LaGrange College.
The regular season will conclude on November 11 with an away contest at Greensboro College.
