PINEHURST, N.C. Day one of the Tiger Invitational ended on Sunday, March 10, and occupying third place is Methodist University men's golf, the number one ranked team in the country.

OPENING ROUND
- Among the top-five, at T-5, is Chase Walts, who shot even-par 72 in the first round. He got into some early trouble during his first five holes, with a triple & a double bogey, but then bounced back nicely with five birdies.
- Cameron Cappuzzo and Cooper Hrabak each scored a one-over par 73 and are in a tie for 15th place. Cappuzzo was two-over (a double bogey, a bogey, and a birdie) following his time on the front half of the course before making three birdies and two bogeys on the back half.
- Hrabak found himself three-over through his first nine holes then took two strokes off after knocking in a pair of birdies during his last nine.
- In a tie for 30th overall, David D'Agostino finished his first round with a three-over par 75. His front half consisted of two bogeys and a birdie, for one-over. He then made a double bogey, a bogey, and birdie on the back half.
- Aiden Spampinato had a tough opening round as he registered a seven-over par 79, which puts him a tie for 59th. His scorecard had six bogeys, a double bogey, and a birdie.

The second & final round takes place on Monday with the first Methodist golfer teeing off at 10:30 AM.
