SAVANNAH, Ga. After the first day of the Savannah Invitational, the Methodist men's golf team sits in a tie for second place with a team score of -11. The Monarchs shot -9 during the first round and sit at -2 midway through the second round, which was suspended due to darkness.

FIRST/SECOND ROUND
- Aiden Spampinato was one of four players to shoot a round-low four strokes under par during the first round. He propelled his way up the leaderboard early with birdies on holes two, three and four, then birdied three more holes while bogeying twice. Through 14 holes in the second round, Spampinato has recorded six more birdies but sits at just -2 on the round.
- Just one stroke over Spampinato in the first round, David D'Agostino shot a 69 with five birdies and two bogeys. He played a clean back nine with two birdies and seven pars. He also sits at -2 through 14 holes in the second round with three birdies and one bogey,
- Cameron Cappuzzo and Cooper Hrabak rounded out the four players scoring for Methodist, as both players shot one under par in the first round (three birdies for Cappuzzo and two for Hrabak). Both players had up-and-down performances through 14 holes in the second round, sitting at +1.
- With three birdies and three bogeys, Chase Walts finished the first round at even par. Through 14 second-round holes, he's shooting +2.
