MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. Entering day two of the Shoals Intercollegiate four strokes behind the first-place team, the Methodist men's golf team put forth the best team score of the second round, combining for a five-under-par 283. The Monarchs pulled even with Carnegie Mellon at four strokes under par, and the two teams will have one final round to decide who takes home the first-place hardware.

ROUND TWO
- Sinking six birdies on the day, Chase Walts ended the round at four-under par, improving his two-day total to seven-under par. He rebounded well after a double-bogey on the second hole.
- Aiden Spampinato had an electric start to the day, making birdies on his first three holes. He shot even-par on the back nine to round out his day at -3. At six-under par, he sits tied for second and just one stroke behind Walts.
- Competing only as an individual, Caleb Ryan also shot three strokes under par on the day. He sank five birdies on the way to boosting his two-day total to six-under par and now sits tied with Spampinato for second place.
- Cooper Hrabak had a fairly even-keeled outing on Monday. The senior sank three birdies along with two bogeys (one of which came on the final hole) to finish the round at one-under par. He now boasts a score of one-over par entering the final round and holds ninth-place on the leaderboard.
- After shooting even-par on the front half, David D'Agostino dropped three bogeys on the back nine to end the round at three-over par. He's now eight strokes over par through two days.
- After an uncharacteristic first round in which he shot seven strokes over par, Cameron Cappuzzo started his day off with a par followed by birdies on holes two and three. He finished the front nine at even-par, the carded four bogeys on the back nine before finishing strong with a birdie on hole 18. The senior is now 10 strokes over par entering the final round.
UP NEXT
Methodist will begin the final round with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Spampinato and Walts will tee off back-to-back on hole 1, while Hrabak will start on hole 2, D'Agostino on hole 3, Cappuzzo on hole 4 and Ryan on hole 18.
