FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Methodist University head football coach
Keven Williams has announced the program's 2024 schedule. The 10-game slate will showcase two non-conference opponents and eight USA South Athletic Conference foes.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Monarchs will open up their newest campaign against Shenandoah University, in Monarch Stadium on Sept. 7. Another common non-conference opponent that Methodist has had on its schedule, basically since the inception of the program, is Guilford College as the Monarchs are the visitors in week two on Sept. 14.
Week three is the start of USA South action with Methodist hosting Greensboro College on Sept. 21. The Monarchs close out the first month on the gridiron on Sept. 28, with a trip to Georgia to play LaGrange College. Methodist will stay on the road to begin October, as the Monarchs head up to Rocky Mount, North Carolina on the 5th to take on the Battling Bishops of N.C. Wesleyan University.
Weeks six and seven see Methodist returning to play in front of its home crowd. First, on Oct. 12, the Monarchs host Huntingdon College before welcoming Southern Virginia University to Fayetteville on Oct. 19, which is also Homecoming weekend.
During the final weekend of October, on the 26th, Methodist takes a trip out to Tennessee to take on Maryville College. This will also be the final year the Monarchs and the Scots play each other as league foes, as Maryville football will be joining the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) in 2025.
The last road game of the regular season will be on Nov. 2 with Methodist traveling to the western part of the state to face Brevard College. The Monarchs wrap up their home schedule with a date against Belhaven University –– the defending 2023 USA South champions –– on Nov. 16.
