MISENHEIMER, N.C. Methodist University men's and women's cross country teams went on the road and ran in the Pfeiffer University Invitational on Saturday, September 14, morning.

MONARCH NOTES
- Leading the pack, in the men's race, was Monarch senior Jack Barriger. He posted a new personal 8K record of 27 minutes, 42.7 seconds while coming in 17th place. 20 seconds later, junior Rafael Shilengitha crossed the finish line with his own 8K PR of 28:07.2, and he came in 22nd.
- Fellow junior Logan William came in 31st overall following a time of 28:53.5, then sophomore Landon Faircloth (32:35.2) and freshman Jadon Triola (32:51.9) were the next two Methodist runners to finish, respectively in 58th and 62nd place.
- Senior Komla Akogo (39:56.0), sophomore Damian Jefferson (42:48.4), and senior Alex Fritz (45:03.4) round out the rest of the men's squad that competed today.
- In the women's race, freshman Emma Wilson led the Monarchs as she came in 38th overall with a time of 24:48.2. Junior Treazure Rosario Watson was next to cross the line, and she completed her first-ever 5K with a time of 27:56.9 while coming in 57th.
- Sophomores Niya Johnson (28:48.8) and Imani Kee (29:16.1) finished within 30 seconds of each other, in 61st and 62nd place. The final Methodist runner to complete the race was junior Alyssa Cervantes following a time of 31:07.1.

Methodist has a couple of weeks to rest up before returning to action and competing in the 40
th Annual Greensboro XC Invitational on Saturday, September 28. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 PM.
