PINEHURST, N.C. Claiming its third tournament win of the 2024–2025 season, the Methodist men's golf team captured first place at the Tiger Invitational on Monday, pulling away for an 11–stroke victory. The Monarchs were the only team to stay under par, finishing with a team total of nine–under par across two rounds.
Chase Walts claimed the medalist's honors, shooting a two–day total of 10–under par.

FINAL ROUND
- Walts was the top Monarch for a second day in a row, this time shooting four strokes under par. His top moment came just before the turn, when he eagled the ninth hole, needing just three strokes on the par 5. He added a team–high five birdies on the round.
- Beau Brewer ascended the leaderboard with a great scorecard on Monday. After bogeying Hole 2, he kept it clean the rest of the way, sinking four birdies throughout the round. His –3 score on the round and for the tournament put him in fifth place overall.
- Aiden Spampinato shot a 38 on the front nine, then saw a balanced back nine with two birdies and two bogeys. His shot +3 for the tournament.
- It was a hot start to the day for Caleb Ryan, who was the only Monarch to birdie the first hole. However, from there his round was filled with pars and four bogeys, leaving him at three strokes over par on Monday and four strokes over par in all.
- Haden Ruby had no blemishes on his scorecard at the turn but shot a 40 on the back nine. The +4 combined with his –2 on Sunday gave him a score of two strokes over par for the tournament, which was still good enough for 21st on the individual leaderboard.
