PITTSFORD, N.Y.  No. 2 Methodist University men's golf completed its opening round of the 2025 Fred B. Kravets Invitational on Friday, with the Monarchs leading the field after posting a score of three-over par 291 at the Irondequoit Country Club.

ROUND ONE

• Like his team, senior Haden Ruby tops the individual leaderboard after a first-round score of two-under-par 70. He made six birdies, three on each side, during the round, which is also the most by any golfer on the first day.
• Senior Caleb Ryan currently sits in fourth place after shooting an even-par 72 in the first round. Three birdies on the front nine had him at one-under, but he went one-over on the back nine after incurring an additional blemish.
• In sixth place, senior Aiden Spampinato recorded a two-over-par 74 in his opening round. He was two-under through his first 12 holes but encountered difficulties in his final six, making two bogeys and one double bogey.
• Senior Chase Walts and Junior Beau Brewer are tied for seventh as they each scored a three-over-par 75 on day one. Walts countered a pair of bogeys with three birdies to go one-under on the front half, then made back-to-back bogeys on holes 9 & 10, followed by a double bogey on hole 17, to go four-over on the back half.
• Brewer made four bogeys, two on each side, and one birdie through 18 holes.

Methodist plays its final round of the Kravetz Invitational on Saturday, April 12, with the round taking place at nearby Oak Hill CC. The first Monarch tees off at 12:04 PM.
