Methodist Takes First Place at the Fred Kravetz Invitational

PITTSFORD, N.Y.  On Saturday, No. 2 Methodist University men's golf won the 2025 Fred B. Kravetz Invitational with a total score of three-over-par 571, following a second round of 280 (E). The Monarch's 571 was also a tournament record for lowest 36-hole team score, crushing the previous record by 22 strokes.

FINAL ROUND
  • Claiming his second medalist honor in his collegiate career, Haden Ruby was the individual winner after shooting a one-under 69 in round two, making three birdies and two bogeys, which made his total score 139 (-3). His 139 was also a new tournament record for the lowest 36-hole individual score.
  • Chase Walts had a superb second outing as he carded a three-under-par 67, moving him up to a tie for second place with a total score of 142 (E). During the round, he made a team-high five birdies to just two bogeys.
  • Caleb Ryan also finished in the top five with a score of two-over-par 144. In the final round, he scored a 72 (+2) after making two more bogeys than birdies.
  • Like Ryan, Beau Brewer posted a two-over-par 72 in the second round, dropping him one spot into a tie for eighth with a total of 147 (+5). He had an up-and-down kind of day making six bogeys and four birdies.
  • Coming in a tie for 20th place, Aiden Spampinato had a rough day two as he shot a seven-over-par 77, making his total 151 (+9). His second-round scorecard read nine bogeys and two birdies.
UP NEXT
Methodist now prepares for the upcoming 2025 USA South Men's Golf Championship, which will take place April 28–30, Monday through Wednesday, with the winner getting the automatic qualifier into the NCAA Men's Golf Championship in May.
