FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Taking on Marymount University at home (in what was originally scheduled as a road game for the Monarchs), the Methodist men's lacrosse team fell by a score of 14–5 on Sunday afternoon. Conditions were wet for the non-conference clash.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist went down 4–0 in the first eight minutes, but responded with three consecutive goals of its own: Nick Spinola and Logan Garrett each put one in to round out the first quarter, then J.R. Newman logged a score to start the second.
- Marymount scored three unanswered to close out the second quarter, making the score 7–3 at the half. Two goals for the Saints to begin the third put Methodist down by six before Josh Crabtree stopped the scoring streak with a goal inside the final three minutes of the quarter. Less than a minute later, RJ Breeden netted a goal to pull the Monarchs back within four entering the final quarter. However, Methodist was kept in check during the final period, while Marymount added five goals to its total, including three by Santino Rossitto, who finished the day with five scores and one assist.
FAST FACTS
- The Monarchs went just 5-for-21 on faceoffs, though LJ Oby was 4-for-6 on his opportunities in the second half. Methodist also struggled to successfully clear the ball up the field in the third quarter (2-for-8), which was when the rain became a heavy downpour.
- Spinola finished with one goal and one assist, while Jay Legg totaled two assists on the day.
