BREVARD, N.C. In convincing fashion, the Methodist men's lacrosse team opened USA South play with a 22–2 road win on Saturday, defeating Brevard College for the fifth consecutive season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Monarchs piled on the goals in the opening quarter, scoring nine times on 21 shots while keeping the Tornados scoreless.
- Brevard's only two goals came in the second quarter. Methodist netted four goals in the second to extend its lead, then outscored the Tornados 9–0 in the second half.
FAST FACTS
- Jay Legg and Logan Garrett each tallied seven points in the victory to lead the team's dominant offensive attack.
- Nick Ratnesar led the team with six ground balls while going 14-for-19 on faceoffs. Christopher Nolder finished 4-for-7 on faceoffs to contribute to the team's success.
